Ticketing for Extension Period (1 October – 31 December 2019)

Please take note that operating hours and ticket release dates have been revised for the extension. The details are as provided below:

The current run of The Bicentennial Experience will end on Sunday, 15 September 2019. It will be closed from 16-30 September for technical maintenance and refurbishment.

The Bicentennial Experience will reopen from Tuesday, 1 October to Tuesday, 31 December 2019, with revised opening hours.

From 1 Oct – 17 Nov, the operating hours for Fridays to Sundays remain as 9am-9pm, but are shorter for Mondays to Thursdays (9am-4pm).

For the school holidays from 18 Nov – 31 Dec, the operating hours will be 9am-9pm from Tuesdays to Sundays, but shorter for Mondays (9am-4pm) (except 30 Dec) due to weekly maintenance.

Corporate and organised group bookings are to be scheduled primarily from Mondays to Thursdays, 9am – 4pm. Please send your requests to groupbookings@kingsmen-int.com. Bookings will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets will be released in two phases, on the 7th and 21st every month, at 8am, so that those who miss the first date will have another chance.

Based on visitorship trends and figures, weekday demand is largely from organised groups, while weekend tickets are popular with the public.

From 1 October  to 17 November, Mondays – Thursdays will be prioritised for group bookings. Show times that are not taken up by groups will be released to the public on the 21st of the preceding month. Announcements will be made on our website and Facebook.

You can book up to a maximum of 8 tickets online, per transaction.

Should you require more than 8 tickets, you can make a second (or third, etc.) transaction.

If you want tickets for 20 or more, and you are open to have your visit arranged on Monday-Thursday, you may write to groupbookings@kingsmen-int.com for assistance.

Yes, free admission tickets are required for all ages.

Yes, the show is open to all.

Once booked online, you will receive an e-mail confirmation which contains a link to download your E-tickets**. Please bring the E-tickets, either by print or on your device, to gain entry on your show day.

**An E-ticket is an electronic form of ticket that can be used for entry to the show. It will be sent to you via e-mail after you have successfully booked your ticket online.

The E-ticket comes in *PDF format, and can be downloaded from the link that is found on the top right corner of the email confirmation. Kindly note that there may be multiple pages as 1 ticket is required per person for entry. Each ticket can only be used for one entry as it contains a unique barcode.

We are unable to change the ticket timing for you and would advise you to book new tickets. Please write to hello.ticketing@kingsmen-int.com with the SISTIC transaction number for your existing tickets, so that we can cancel on the backend and allow others to book those tickets online.

It is recommended that you arrive ON TIME. Late arrival after the ticket time will result in non-admittance. Queue for entry opens 15 minutes before the ticket time.

Time Traveller is a timed experience and visitors are allowed entry according to the ticket time chosen when booking online. The time is indicated in your email booking confirmation.

Pathfinder is a free & easy experience which you can visit any time.

Walk-ins will be put on a wait list and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no guarantee of entry into the Time Traveller if you are a walk-in, and no estimate of the waiting time is possible as it depends on the turnout that day.

There are lifts within Fort Canning Centre and ramps to facilitate wheelchair access. Please indicate at the time of booking if you require wheelchair assistance as there are space and loading restrictions within the centre.

In the unlikely event that a show is cancelled, visitors will be duly notified by SISTIC. Information will be provided on where and when you can reschedule for a new ticket time.

Arranging A Visit To The Bicentennial Experience At Fort Canning Park

From Singapore to Singaporean: The Bicentennial Experience is a two-part experience that comprises the “Time Traveller” & “Pathfinder”.

The Time Traveller is a 60-minute immersive multimedia show within the Fort Canning Centre that presents a powerful experience of Singapore’s history across more than 700 years. Visitors will go through five acts played out in the galleries.

The Pathfinder is an outdoor experience comprising a set of pavilions with interactive elements that are situated within the Fort Gate area to allow for free and easy exploration. Visitors may spend another 30 minutes or longer here.

Getting To The Bicentennial Experience

MRT

There are 4 MRT stations within walking distance:

  • DT Line: Fort Canning station (8 mins)
    From Exit B, turn right to Fort Canning Park, take the new escalator up Fort Canning hill, which will be operational from 1 Jun 2019.
  • CC / NE / NS Lines: Dhoby Ghaut station (8 -10 mins)
    From Exit B, turn left at ground level to exit the station, cross Penang Road, turn left and follow the walkway that will lead to the Fort Canning Tunnel.
  • CC Line: Bras Basah station (10 -12 mins)
    From Exit E, turn back towards Bras Basah Road and take the road crossing. Walk straight and lookout for the escalator leading up to Fort Canning Park.
  • NE Line: Clarke Quay station (20 mins)
    From Exit E, turn left and walk along Coleman Bridge. Continue along Hill Street and enter Fort Canning Park via the flight of stairs on your left.

Taxi / Private Hire Car

Take a taxi or private hire car and direct the driver towards Fort Canning Park via Stamford Road / Bencoolen Street from Fort Canning Road. Fort Canning Rise is closed. Drop off at the roundabout at The Battlebox.

Shuttle Bus

18 Nov – 31 Dec 2019
There are free shuttle bus services available 7 days a week.

First bus from all locations departs at 8.20am. Last bus from all locations departs at 4.10pm on Mondays and 8.50pm from Tuesday to Sunday. Last bus from Fort Canning Centre departs at 6.30pm on Mondays (except 30 Dec) and 10.40pm from Tuesday to Sunday to all locations.

Pick Up Locations

A. Plaza Singapura pick-up/drop-off point (near HSBC, #01-60); at Dhoby Ghaut station

B. Raffles City Mall taxi stand along North Bridge Road (near Nespresso); at City Hall station

Journey time: Approximately 15 minutes from all locations to Fort Canning Centre.
Frequency: Shuttle buses at all locations arrive at intervals of 10 – 20 minutes.
Please cater sufficient time for travelling and waiting as these are 19-seater buses and you may need to wait for the next one if the first bus is full.

Wheelchair-friendly shuttle bus
Wheelchair-friendly shuttle bus services will be available at Plaza Singapura pick-up/drop-off point from 9.00am to 11.40pm and 2.00pm to 4.40pm on weekends and public holidays.

  • Please note that each bus seats 19 passengers, and is available on a first come, first served basis. All passengers on the shuttle bus are to be seated. No standing is allowed.
  • For now, please note that buses are not wheelchair accessible. We are working on alternatives. More information will be available at a later date.
  • Departure and arrival times serve as estimates only, and are subject to passenger crowd, traffic and weather conditions, or any other unforeseen circumstances.
  • The Bicentennial Experience shall not be liable for any missed trips, consequential damages, penalties, cost and expenses incurred due to and/or in relation to the operation of the shuttle service.
  • The Bicentennial Experience reserves the right to amend the shuttle service schedules, and the shuttle service terms and conditions without prior notice.

If you are driving to the Fort Canning Centre, the nearest parking available is at Fort Canning Carparks A and C. Please note that parking lots are limited.

Alternatively, you may park at buildings within or near Fort Canning hill, including:

  • Hotel Fort Canning
    Approximately 100 parking lots available.
  • National Museum Singapore
    Outdoor parking facilities – approximately 30 parking lots available.
  • SMU – School of Law
    Approximately 30 parking lots available.
  • Liang Court Shopping Centre
    Approximately 727 parking lots available.

Parking at Fort Canning is very limited. Visitors are encouraged to park at Liang Court Shopping Centre, National Museum Singapore or SMU, then take a Grab with our discount codes.

Alternatively, park at Raffles City or Plaza Singapura, then take our free shuttle buses. For shuttle bus and wheelchair-friendly shuttle bus schedules, please click on the respective month: Nov and Dec.

Please set aside sufficient time from these alternative parking venues to Fort Canning Centre.

Visiting The Bicentennial Experience At Fort Canning

There will be narration for Time Traveller in English. Audio guides are available to offer translations in Mandarin, Malay and Tamil (subject to availability).

Yes, but flash photography is prohibited within Time Traveller.

There will be a Food Village located near Pathfinder offering local food selections, including Halal-certified options.

There are no storage facilities available.

There will be a First Aid Station equipped with basic medical equipment. Please approach our staff on site for assistance if you need medical attention.

We recommend that all visitors wear comfortable clothing and shoes as The Bicentennial Experience will involve much walking, both indoor and outdoor.

As slots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, we are unable to guarantee that you will be able to get additional tickets for the same slot.

Time Traveller is housed within the Fort Canning Centre and is sheltered.

Pathfinder, on the other hand, is designed as a free-and-easy experience within the park settings of Fort Gate, so while the pavilions are sheltered, the whole area is not.

In the event of rain, limited shelter is available around Fort Canning Centre.

The Time Traveller component of the Bicentennial Experience is a timed experience with a fixed sequence through five acts, and there is no need for a guided tour.

The Pathfinder component is best suited for a free-and-easy exploration. We do not offer guided tours.
