Past, Present & Future: Commemorating the Singapore Bicentennial by Methodist Girls’ School
A mesmerizing tapestry symbolic of Singapore, this portraiture wall captures the different faces of our nation through the eyes of our future generation. Created from 200 individual art pieces from the Primary 4 students at Methodist Girls’ School, each portrait tells of time past, of rich multi-generational connections, and of the envisioning of young minds.
Traversing time, the multi-faceted display mirrors our kaleidoscopic society and shines a light on the people who make up the fabric of our nation. From the past, our pioneers who have painstakingly built the Singapore dream; from the present, Singaporeans who have inspired and galvanised this dream to greater heights; from the future, the rich imagination and aspirations of our youth to chart and explore new paths and frontiers.
In the story of 200 faces, one finds the Singapore narrative – the chapters of determination, progress and evolution, a people coming together to build a home, and the journey onward for a nation built to last.
